Become a Christian

Hear the word of God and his plan for your salvation.  Build your faith by learning God’s plan and by studying His word (Rom 10:17).

Believe every word that is in the Bible.  Many teachers would stop the plan of salvation here, but if we are to believe in the entire Bible we cannot ignore Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, or any of the Biblical accounts of salvation following baptism.

Repent of your sins (Acts 2:38).  This doesn’t mean to simply ask for forgiveness for your sins, although that is a part of it.  This means to turn away from them, to about face from your sins.  Will you still sin? Of course, no one is perfect (Rom 3:23), but we still try our best to leave the old life of sin behind us.

Confess that you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of the living God (Acts 8:37).

Be baptized into water.  Is there something special about the water? No, its the fact that you are obeying God’s plan completely that is significant to God.  While it is Jesus’ blood that He shed on the cross that saves us, the act of being baptized is required for salvation (1 Peter 3:21, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38).

Walk in newness of life (Romans 6:5, 1 John 1:7).
